Renowned biomedical engineer, neuroscientist to speak at Louisiana Tech
Dr. Daryl R. Kipke, professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan, will present his research in neural technologies, brain-machine interface systems and biomaterials for the nervous system on April 26 at 4:00 p.m. at Louisiana Tech University’s Biomedical Engineering Center.
The presentation is part of the “Today’s Leaders” lecture series hosted by Tech’s College of Engineering and Science and the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Science (CBERS).
Admission to the event is free and the public is welcome to attend.
In addition to his work in the University of Michigan’s biomedical engineering department, Kipke also directs the Center for Neural Communication Technology and heads an internationally recognized research program focused on neural engineering, neural implants, neuroprostheses, and neural biomaterials.
Kipke is the co-founder and President/CEO of NeuroNexus Technologies, Inc., a growing neurotechnology company in Ann Arbor providing advanced brain interface devices for neurological and scientific applications. Additionally, Kipke co-founded and helped to lead Neural Intervention Technologies, Inc. from a University of Michigan startup in 2001 to acquisition by W.L. Gore in 2006.
Kipke is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering as well as a member of several neuroscience and biomedical engineering societies.
