Dr. Rebecca J. Bennett, the Herbert McElveen Professor of Management in Louisiana Tech’s College of Business, was recently invited by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWAR) and the Special Security Center (SSC) in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to participate in a focus group on criminal.
The focus of the group’s discussion, which took place on August, was how to improve the Federal Security Clearance Process Adjudicative Guidelines.  Bennett was chosen to participate because she is considered a subject-matter expert in the field of employee deviance.
Other panelists included criminologists, developmental psychologists, probation and parole consultants, credibility assessment experts, clinical psychologists, criminal defense attorneys as well as representatives from the Office of the Director of National Security.
The group discussed and suggested revisions to the Bond Amendment, Guideline J: Criminal Conduct which deals with factors disqualifying individuals from top security clearance by the U.S. Government.
