ROAD CLOSURES – Homer Street Development Project

Sep 16, 2010 | General News

Louisiana Tech University and the City of Ruston have broken ground on the first phase of the Homer Street Development Project that will provide for major improvements to the underground infrastructure, aesthetics, and navigation between the campus and downtown Ruston.
As a result of this project, certain roads and intersections will have to be closed to traffic over the next several months.  These closures are necessary for the safety of our campus community and construction crews, and the timely completion of the project.
Effective immediately, traffic flows on the following roads have changed from one-way to two-way:

  • Texas Avenue (between Oilmill Street and Homer Street)
  • Louisiana Avenue (between College Street and Oilmill Street)

No parking is permitted on these roads at any time.
The first road closure is scheduled for September 27 – October 13 (weather permitting) and will include the intersection of Arizona Avenue and Homer Street, and Homer Street from Arizona Avenue to Texas Avenue.
The Homer Street Development website, located at http://www.latech.edu/impact_study/homer_street.shtml, will provide up-to-date information related to the closures as well as alternate routes, maps, and contact information for sending questions and comments.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
