Schelonka presents research in Canada
A Louisiana Tech Spanish educator presented his scholarly work at an international conference held recently in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Greg Schelonka, an assistant professor, presented “The Revolution by Other Means: Beyond the novela negra” at the LASA XXIX Conference: Crisis, Response, and Recovery. In his paper, Schelonka stated that studies of detective fiction need to be expanded to see detective fiction is part of a larger trend of crime fiction, and he used examples from Mexican, Nicaraguan and Brazilian works.
The conference of the Latin American Studies Association draws more than 4,500 international scholars who address aspects of Latin America in their work, which includes disciplines such as history, communications, political science, urban studies, economics, literature, cultural studies and more.
