“The Louisiana Tech University Foundation provides funding for this annual report because the directors feel it is imperative that the alumni and friends of the University are aware of this record of accomplishment,” said Corre Stegall, vice president for university advancement at Louisiana Tech.
“Performance by institutions of higher education is a point of great emphasis in current state budget discussions.  I think it’s clear that excellence in all areas of performance has long been of primary importance to Louisiana Tech, and the entire university is dedicated to even higher levels of performance in the years to come.”
According to Stegall, the objective of This is Louisiana Tech University was to capture the very essence of the university, its people, and its passion for producing at the highest levels.  It presents a comprehensive look at a very successful and progressive, yet challenging year for Louisiana Tech.
Despite ongoing budget reductions and the growing uncertainty surrounding higher education in the State, Louisiana Tech continued to focus on institutional performance, achieving the UL System’s highest graduation rate, highest average freshman ACT score, and largest percentage increase in student enrollment for fall 2010.
Louisiana Tech also has the state’s fastest time-to-degree completion for first-time baccalaureates and achieved the highest student-athlete graduation rate among all Louisiana public institutions with football programs.
“The performance of our students, faculty and staff, especially in times of uncertainty, is truly what sets Louisiana Tech apart,” said Louisiana Tech University President Dan Reneau.  “All that we’ve been able to accomplish this past year is a direct result of the dedication of our campus community to our vision, and the positive impacts they have made throughout Louisiana.”
In addition to rankings and achievements, This is Louisiana Tech University looks at areas such as institutional audits and accreditations, research and economic development, campus and student life enhancements, and contributions to strengthening the communities of north Louisiana through service-learning programs, educational outreach activities, and volunteerism.
“The entire Tech family is energized and enthusiastic as we build on this amazing record of success,” said Stegall.  “Our message is simple: Louisiana Tech has a vision of excellence that goes far beyond expectations, and this university communicates strength and pride in this presentation of the year’s accomplishments.”
