Tech students participate in state intercollegiate band

Nine Louisiana Tech music students recently joined forces with fellow players from around the state to form the 2011 Louisiana Intercollegiate Band, which presented a performance in the Ducrest-Giffrey Auditorium on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The band was conducted by Thomas Fraschillo, a professor of music and director of bands from the University of Southern Mississippi.
The program consisted of works by Zaninelli, Stradella, Milburn, Sousa and Tchaikovsky.
Tech students who participated in this event are as follows, listed by hometown:
Benton: Luke Ellard, clarinet, a senior music performance major;
Bossier City:  Rachael Drella, piccolo, an animal science major; Rachel McNair, clarinet, a senior animal science major;
Eros: Evan Wollerson, oboe, a sophomore music performance major;
Hammond: Howard Gauley Jr., alto saxophone, a senior music education major;
Haughton: Jonathan Martinez, alto saxophone, a senior music education major; Tiffany Woda, trumpet, a senior music education major;
Ruston: Jonathan Magee, percussion, a sophomore music percussion major; and Timothy Pardue, trumpet, a senior music education major.
