Tech jazz ensemble spices up weekend
The Louisiana Tech Jazz Ensemble will perform its annual winter concert Friday, Feb. 18 in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Lawrence Gibbs, associate professor of music, the concert will feature music from major jazz artists including Count Basie, Gordon Goodwin, Benny Goodman, Bill Evans and Tower of Power. Ruston’s own Scott Smith will perform with the band as special guest artist on trumpet. Smith performs with The Equinox Jazz Orchestra and many other jazz groups in the area.
The concert is free and open to the public.
