Prospective students enjoy Tech’s AHEC Day
Sixteen prospective Louisiana Tech students received the opportunity to learn more about their potential majors at the 2011 North Louisiana Area Health Education Center Day held recently.
The high school students received information about nursing and allied health programs offered by Tech and took a tour of campus and Tech Farm. They also participated in interactive skill stations in the Nursing Skills Lab.
Ashley Frazier, North Louisiana AHEC’s director of youth programs, said the students said they enjoyed the day as a whole, but their favorite area was rotating through the various stations in the nursing department.
“The students also enjoyed learning about the variety of healthcare opportunities that La. Tech has to offer,” she said. “For some, this is their first time on the campus, so they enjoyed getting a feel of what La. Tech is like. They also loved interacting with current students and listening to all of the good things they have to say about their school.”
