Accounting professor, students receive 2011 Outstanding Paper Award

Ted D. Englebrecht, the Harold J. Smolinski Eminent Scholar Chair in Accounting at Louisiana Tech University, and students Tony Chu, Fred Coleman and Rebecca Martin are recipients of the American Accounting Association’s (AAA) 2011 Outstanding Paper Award.
The AAA award for their article titled, “An Assessment of Patterns of Coauthorship for Academic Accountants Within Premier Journals Edited Outside the US:  Evidence From 1995-2009” was presented along with a plaque and a $500 prize at the 2011 Southeastern American Accounting Association regional meeting held in Destin, Florida. 
The AAA seeks to promote worldwide excellence in accounting education and to serve as the premier forum for scholarly interchange in accounting. 
Englebrecht received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina and has been a professor of accounting at Louisiana Tech since 2001.  Chu, Coleman and Martin are doctoral students in Louisiana Tech’s College of Business, majoring in accounting.
