Tech student chosen as editor
A Louisiana Tech senior nursing major will serve as editor for the Louisiana Student Nurse Association chapters’ newsletter, “Horizon’s.”
Mae Flager, of Eros, said her editorial background from previously working at a printing company in Florida assisted in her being chosen for the position.
“Gary Paudel, the region director for the SNA chapters in our area, came to the November meeting of Tech’s SNA and mentioned that the editor position was open,” Flager said. “I have a background in publishing and copy editing and was intrigued.”
After speaking with Paudel and discussing her qualifications, Flager was elected to the position.
Flager said “Horizon’s” is a way for the state chapters to communicate, learn from each other and provide service and learning opportunities in the various communities.
“My responsibilities include creating a theme for each issue, collecting and editing the submissions from the various SNA chapters, and creating original content for the newsletter,” she said.
Flager added that she hoped to have her first “Horizon’s” issue out in February 2012.
