Music to abound in Tech’s Howard Auditorium

Events on back-to-back days will feature faculty performances and the percussion ensemble for the Tech and Ruston communities to attend free of charge.
First, on Monday, Feb. 6, the Louisiana Tech Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dr. Gregory Lyons, will perform in the Howard Auditorium. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature works from Belgian musician and filmmaker Thierry de Mey’s “Musique de tables” and Bulgarian composer Dobri Paliev’s “Trio No. 3,” among others.

Next, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, the department of music’s Faculty Concert Series will feature faculty members Sean Teets at tenor, Laura Thompson on piano, Cain Budds on guitar, Lawrence Gibbs on clarinet, Gregory Lyons at percussion, Randall Sorensen on trumpet and Shayla Blake will also perform on piano. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Howard Auditorium.
