Campus community, public invited to memorial service for Tyrone Duplessis
A public memorial service for Tyrone Duplessis is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center on the Louisiana Tech campus. Members of the campus, alumni, and local communities are encouraged to join Tyrone’s friends, teammates, fellow students, fans and Tech alumni to honor his memory.
Duplessis, a redshirt sophomore running back from New Orleans, passed away on February 2 at the age of 21. He is survived by his parents, George and Mary, and two siblings, George III and Levoneshia Dixon.
Louisiana Tech has established the Tyrone Duplessis Memorial Fund. The University, Athletics Department, and the Duplessis family ask that in lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Tyrone should be made to the Tyrone Duplessis Memorial Fund at the Louisiana Tech University Foundation.
