Workshops free to elementary students
A free workshop to enrich kindergarten through fourth grade students in the areas of science and social studies will be hosted at Louisiana Tech.
Minds-On Science, inquiry-based and hands-on explorations, will be held April 11, April 18, April 25, May 2 and May 9. Integrated Learning Workshops, reviewing social studies, language arts and visual arts, will be held April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3 and May 10.
The events will be held from 6-8 p.m. in Woodard Hall, Room 135, and all students in kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to attend. Parents are encouraged but not required to come. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and sessions are limited to 25 students. Tech students enrolled in EDCI 235 and EDCI 236 will work with the participants.
Children can attend any workshop and select the topics of study within science or social studies, and all of the activities are aligned to Louisiana’s content standards for science and/or social studies.
