Tech to showcase industry partnerships at Tech Pointe Open House
— CEOs will welcome guests and highlight their collaborations, experiences with Tech —
Several high-tech companies that have come to north Louisiana to capitalize on the intellectual, commercialization and research strengths of Louisiana Tech University are hosting an Open House at their offices in Tech Pointe at Louisiana Tech’s Enterprise Campus, September 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Company CEOs, local and state legislators, and university administrators will gather with members of the community to showcase many of the projects and collaborations that are taking place at Tech Pointe. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
“These companies are making significant investments in our community and helping to build the innovation economy in our region,” said Dr. Dave Norris, executive director of Louisiana Tech’s Enterprise Center. “Each one has come here to partner not only with Louisiana Tech, but with our community and our region to create new economic opportunities.”
Tech Pointe is the the first multi-tenant facility constructed at Louisiana Tech’s research park, Enterprise Campus. Along with the tenant companies, Tech Pointe is home to the Air Force-funded Cyber Research Laboratory and the Industry Consortium for Innovations in Communications, Information and Cyberspace (IC3) – an organization that works to foster bonds between industry, the university, and government in an effort to support the rapidly growing communications and technology ecosystem now developing around the university’s hub in northern Louisiana.
The Open House will feature a welcome from Louisiana Tech University President Dan Reneau, a panel discussion with the company CEOs, and an opportunity for guests to tour Tech Pointe and visit with the companies. Company CEOs and representatives will highlight their collaborations and the impacts their partnerships with Louisiana Tech are having on the communities of north Louisiana.
“Each of these companies brings a different type of business activity to our campus,” said Dr. Les Guice, executive vice president and vice president for research and development at Louisiana Tech. “But each one is coming because of their need to connect to the talent that our university has to offer. Some are doing research, some doing product development, some business development but all are doing workforce development.
“These companies are creating exciting jobs and career opportunities for our students and graduates. And they are attracting other companies to be a part of the growing innovation enterprise in our community and region.”
Organizations with offices and operations in Tech Pointe include Fenway Group (Dallas, Texas), Radiance Technologies (Huntsville, Ala.), Beyond Vision (Orlando, Fla.), 5 Dynamics (Fairview, Texas), Logic Nation (Shreveport, La.), and the Cyber Innovation Center (Bossier City, La.), and the IC3 Consortium. They will be joined by companies from Louisiana Tech’s Enterprise Center business incubators including Haptic Unlimited, Biovations, Helpflix, NFT, S2S Tutor, Jupiter Fuels, American Strategic Innovation, PVR America, and Infosytech.
