LDVA to visit Tech, connect with student-veterans

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) will visit Louisiana Tech University with its mobile outreach vehicle, Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the parking lot between GTM and the Ropp Center in an effort to connect with student Veterans during the first weeks of the fall quarter.
“Student Veterans are an important part of every Louisiana college and university population,” says Lane A. Carson, secretary of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs.  “LDVA wants to make sure every student Veteran has the information about the benefits he or she earned through their military service to be successful in their educational pursuits.”
LDVA representatives will be on hand to provide information regarding a number of Veteran benefits and programs such as:

  • GI Bill
  • VRAP and On The Job Training Programs
  • VA Work Study Program
  • Changes to TOPS qualifications regarding Veterans
  • VA benefits

The mission of LDVA is to provide comprehensive care and quality service to Louisiana’s Veterans and families with regard to health care, education, disability benefits, long term care and burial honors.
