Reporter, author to discuss Louisiana politics Friday at Tech

Louisiana Tech will host well-known political reporter John Maginnis for the “Louisiana at 200: A Bicentennial Lecture Series” at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, in Wyly Tower Auditorium.
Maginnis will shed light on the political history of Louisiana in his presentation, “Our Heroes Have Always Been Governors: What Makes Louisiana Politics Different,” through commentary and analyses regarding politics in Louisiana both past and present.
Invested in Louisiana state politics, Maginnis has been educating his statesmen since 1972. He has published an online newsletter titled “LaPolitics Weekly” as well as having written two books, “The Last Hayride” and “Cross to Bear: America’s Most Dangerous Politics.” Maginnis is widely known for a column shared with 18 different newspapers in Louisiana.
