Tech's TBDC teams with national institute to host cyber security workshop
Louisiana Tech’s Technology Business Development Center and the National Institute of Standards and Technology will host a cyber security workshop Thursday, Sept. 19.
Richard Kissel, who works with NIST’s Computer Security Division, will conduct the workshop, which will focus on helping business owners assess their security to identify necessary safeguards, weigh potential loss and prepare for cyber threats.
The workshop will also help small and mid-sized business owners improve their understanding of computer security, reduce their exposure to cyber attacks and protect themselves against threats posed by computer crime and accidental computing errors.
Participants do not need to be a computer or technology professional to attend the free presentation. Preregistration is required by calling 318-257-3537 or by visiting https://sep19-cybersecurity-ruston.eventbrite.com/.
The workshop will take place from 8 a.m. until noon at University Hall.
