Louisiana Tech University has applied for reaccreditation of its graduate education programs in speech-language pathology and audiology. These programs, administered by the Department of Speech in the College of Liberal Arts, have been scheduled for an on-site review on October 17-18, 2013.
The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the nationally recognized accrediting agency for college and university graduate programs that provide entry-level professional preparation with a major emphasis in audiology and/or speech-language pathology.
Five individuals representing the CAA will visit the campus on Thursday and Friday, October 17-18, 2013 to review the graduate programs’ compliance with established accreditation standards.
Individuals who wish to provide input to the site visitors about Louisiana Tech’s graduate education programs in speech-language pathology and audiology are invited to meet with the site reviewers during their visit on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 4:30pm in Robinson Hall, Room 115.
Additional information about the re-accreditation site visit may be obtained by visiting the Department’s webpage at http://www.latech.edu/speech/index.shtml.
The Standards for Accreditation may be obtained by contacting the Accreditation Office at ASHA, 2200 research Boulevard, Rockville, Maryland 20850, calling ASHA’s Action Center at 1-800-498-2071, or accessing the documents on ASHA’s Web site at http://www.asha.org/academic/accreditation/accredmanual/section3.htm
Inquiries and information requests should be routed to Brenda L. Heiman, Interim Head for the Department of Speech at Louisiana Tech, at (318) 257-4764 or bheiman@latech.edu.
