Auditions for “Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp” will be held at 6:00 p.m. on December 9 and December 10 in Howard Theatre, located in Louisiana Tech University’s Howard Center for the Performing Arts.

A meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. each night in Howard Auditorium for adults and children of all ethnicities, second grade and up, who would like to audition for the production.  Parents who are interested are also encouraged to audition with their children.

Based on the Arabian Nights as told by the legendary Queen Scheherezade and set in Ancient Persia, “Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp” tells the thrilling story of a young boy named Aladdin, who is deceived by the evil Maghrabi while striving to fulfill his dreams of becoming wealthy and winning the heart of Princess Badroulboudour.

Students aged 12 and under may simply read a poem of eight to 12 lines for their audition.  Individuals aged 12 and over may either perform a one-minute monologue, read or recite a 12 – 18 line poem, or read from a scene provided at the auditions.  Callbacks will not be utilized in this audition process.
