Jenny Curry and Daryl Ware, students majoring in human resources at Louisiana Tech University, recently earned scholarships from the Northeast Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management (NELA-SHRM).
“NELA-SHRM exists to build and sustain partnerships with human resource professionals, businesses, and academic institutions that influence the effectiveness and sustainability of our communities,” said Fred Baragona, chapter president for NELA-SHRM. “Our organization is designed for community members interested in the HR profession to share expertise and create innovative solutions on people-management issues, and to proactively provide leadership, education, and research to human resource professionals, and the businesses in our community. We do this by connecting professionals through our monthly meetings and social networks.”
The scholarships are awarded to students from Louisiana Tech and the University of Louisiana at Monroe who are pursuing studies in human resources. Curry is a senior who lives in Ruston with her husband, a psychology graduate student at Louisiana Tech Ware is a sophomore from Shreveport.
