Dr. Phillip Rozeman to serve as keynote for Louisiana Tech’s fall commencement

Dr. Phillip Rozeman, one of Louisiana’s most highly regarded and respected cardiologists and the founder of the Alliance for Education, Education’s Next Horizon, and the Shreveport-Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education, will serve as the keynote speaker for Louisiana Tech University’s fall quarter commencement.
Fall commencement ceremonies will take place at 10:00 a.m. on November 15 at the Thomas Assembly Center, and signals the official end of Louisiana Tech’s fall academic quarter.

Rozeman is the founder of the largest cardiology group in north and central Louisiana, and has been recognized over the last decade as one of “America’s Top Cardiologists” by the Consumer Research Council. He has served in several healthcare leadership positions including Chief of Staff and board member of the Willis-Knighton Health System as well as President of the Shreveport Medical Society.
In addition to his leadership in the state’s healthcare industries, Rozeman is also the founder of the Alliance for Education, Education’s Next Horizon, and the Shreveport-Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education – all non-profit organizations that connect business and education leaders around education improvement. Over the last decade, he has served on several legislative commissions on higher education and healthcare reform. He serves now as chairman of Blueprint Louisiana and is on the executive boards of the Louisiana Committee of 100 and the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce.
For his volunteer work in the community, Rozeman has been named Business Leader of the Year by the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Minden Chambers of Commerce, the Citizen of the Year by the March of Dimes, and has recently been inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. In 2000, he was chosen by the Shreveport Times as one of ten “Leaders who make a Difference in the New Millennium.”
Graduates from each of Louisiana Tech’s five academic colleges and the Graduate School will receive diplomas as well as their Tenet Medallions inscribed with the 12 Tenets of Tech and their year of graduation. The Tenets of Tech are guiding principles and personal characteristics that students and graduates are expected to embrace and uphold during and after their time at Louisiana Tech.
Winter quarter classes at Louisiana Tech are scheduled to begin on December 3.
