College of Engineering and Science honors outstanding students, faculty
Louisiana Tech University’s College of Engineering and Science is proud to announce its 2015 Outstanding Students and Faculty.
Each year, faculty and staff from the College of Engineering and Science select outstanding juniors and seniors who have excelled in academics and leadership for the College. Graduating seniors vote on the two faculty members who most influenced their educations at Louisiana Tech.
The 2015 College of Engineering and Science Outstanding Seniors are Benjamin Beach (mathematics), Benjamin Curry (construction engineering technology), Graham Hogsett (civil engineering), Hunter Lee (industrial engineering), Christa Swafford (electrical engineering) and Morgan Tanner (electrical engineering).
Outstanding Juniors for 2015 in the College of Engineering and Science are Caroline Bell (biomedical engineering), Morgan Bollich (chemical engineering), Manoela Chiacchio (industrial engineering), Samuel Helman (mechanical engineering) and Courtney Jennings (chemical engineering).
“We are so proud of the accomplishments of these students,” said Dr. Jenna Carpenter, associate dean of undergraduate studies for the College of Engineering and Science. “Not only have they done well in their classes, but they have been leaders in a variety of professional organizations, participated in internships and research experiences, and served as mentors to other students on campus.”
Outstanding Faculty in the College of Engineering and Science for 2015 are Dr. Brad Cicciarelli, lecturer of chemical and mechanical engineering, and Dr. David Hall, director of mechanical engineering, civil engineering and construction engineering technology and professor of mechanical engineering.
“Drs. Cicciarelli and Hall represent our finest faculty,” Carpenter said. “The effort and expertise that they devote to teaching and mentoring students is so important. They are a key reason that Louisiana Tech has a reputation for producing such strong and well-prepared engineering graduates.”
The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech consists of eight engineering programs (biomedical, chemical, civil, cyber, electrical, industrial, mechanical and nanosystems engineering), two engineering technology programs (construction and electrical engineering technology) and four science programs (chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics). The College offers undergraduate degree programs in each of these areas, as well as graduate degrees in engineering and science at both the master’s and doctoral level.
Known for its integrated approach to both education and research, the College of Engineering and Science is an affiliate of the National Academy of Engineering’s Center for the Advancement of Scholarship in Engineering Education.
