Music department swings into homecoming with jazz ensemble
The Louisiana Tech University Jazz Ensemble will kick off Homecoming weekend with its fall concert featuring classics from the Count Basie library and contemporary works for big band.
The performance will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at Howard Auditorium.
Directed by Lawrence Gibbs, associate professor of music, the ensemble is made up of students from a variety of majors. The concert will begin immediately following the homecoming pep rally.
The concert is free and open to the public, but the department will accept donations toward the music scholarship fund.
