L to R: Sarah Bryan, Hannah Gissendanner, Drew Boyd, Amber Jurgensen, and Emily Varisco.

Recent graduate Drew William Boyd (MA English, February 2017) and current graduate students Amber Nicole Jurgensen, Sarah Catherine Bryant, Hannah Jane Gissendanner and Emily Varisco received their award certificates May 4 in a ceremony conducted in conjunction with a poetry reading by author and editor Jon Tribble.
Recommendations for inclusion come directly from the faculty. Recipients are selected based on their consistent excellence in studies and activities. Criteria for selection include GPA, participation and leadership within campus organizations, and extracurricular activities. The students’ community involvement and future leadership ability are also considered.
Each year, a select group of students is admitted into Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. This exclusive honor is conferred by more than 1,000 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is symbolized by the presentation of an award certificate.
