Tech earns honors for top online BGS degree in state

TheBestSchools.org has ranked Louisiana Tech University’s Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree the best online program of its kind in the state.

Tech’s College of Liberal Arts awards the degree, which has recently been renamed the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. It allows students to choose their own thematic concentration and tailor their four-year degree to match career goals.

The program ranked 14th in the United States. This ranking measures programs based on six elements:

  • Academic quality
  • Strength of faculty scholarship
  • Reputation
  • Financial aid availability
  • Range of degree programs
  • Strength of online methodology
