Louisiana Tech University was named the No. 2 public college in the state of Louisiana on the Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges for 2018 list.

For its list, Forbes compares alumni salaries, debt after graduation, retention and graduation rates, debt load upon graduation, and signs of individual success including academic and career accolades.

Louisiana Tech ranked No. 82 among all universities in the South and No. 138 among all public colleges in the United States. Earlier this year, Forbes again ranked Louisiana Tech University among the top higher education values in the nation, with a ranking of No. 148 in the United State with only LSU ranked higher among Louisiana’s public universities.

The Forbes Top Colleges ranking uses data from the U.S. Department of Education, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.
