College of Education hosts Southwest Assessment Group Spring event

Dennis Doverspike, PhD, ABPP, president of HR Litehouse (Doverspike Consulting, LLC), delivered a lecture for the Southwest Assessment Group (SWAG) and International Personnel Assessment Council (IPAC)’s Spring Event on May 10 at the Academic Success Center in Bossier City, LA.

The Master of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology Program served as a primary sponsor for the event.

Dr. Frank Igou, Coordinator of the Industrial-Organizational Psychology master’s program, and Doverspike spoke on “Adverse Impact: What is it? How do we deal with it?” at the workshop for students and human resources professionals.

Doverspike is an internationally renowned psychologist licensed in Ohio. He is certified as a specialist in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and in Organizational and Business Consulting by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He received his PhD in Psychology in 1983 from the University of Akron. His MS in Psychology is from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his BS is from John Carroll University.

Along with teaching courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, he has directed dissertations, theses, and practica. He formerly held the title of Full Professor of Psychology at the University of Akron, Senior Fellow of the Institute for Life-Span Development and Gerontology, and Director of the Center for Organizational Research.

For over 40 years, IPAChas served human resources directors, attorneys, management consultants, psychologists, organizational psychology specialists, and other leaders in the field by providing professional development, conference, and other resources to encourage growth and ensure that the best practices are implemented both regionally and nationally.
