Auditions for fall musical comedy planned Sept. 16-17

Auditions for Louisiana Tech Department of Theatre’s fall musical comedy, The Addams Family — A New Musical, will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 16-17 in Stone Theatre. Auditions are open to the entire Tech and Ruston communities.

Art for theater productionThe musical will run at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22-26 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in Stone Theatre. Cherrie Sciro, Tech’s Coordinator of Theatre, will direct.

For auditions, prepare a song selection and any comedic monologue from the musical. Together the song and monologue should last no more than 90 seconds. Sheet Music selections and monologue selections (optional) will be available after Sept. 11 in the office of the Coordinator of Theatre (Office 304A in Howard Center for the Performing Arts, Theatre Side). Call 318.257.2930 prior to coming to verify someone will be in the office.

The first night of auditions will be the 90-second song-and-dance monologues. The second night will be the dance audition; dress comfortably for movement.

Those auditioning must attend both nights.

Specifically encouraged to attend are small boys between the ages of 10 and 14 to audition for the role of Pugsley Addams. The Wednesday Addams character must be 18 years or older.
