Tech faculty, staff commit $1 million to Forever Loyal campaign

Monday, Louisiana Tech University honored faculty and staff members who have committed nearly $1 million in the past year to support their University as a part of the Forever Loyal campaign.

University Advancement honored faculty and staff with a luncheon Monday. In the University’s 125th anniversary year, Louisiana Tech established a goal of $125 million for its most ambitious capital campaign to date. Faculty and staff participation will play an integral role in helping to reach that goal, according to Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement.

“Members of the Tech Family, particularly our faculty and staff, are committed to meeting our campaign goal and our efforts to provide unparalleled educational experiences for our students,” Hull said. “Their participation helps persuade alumni and friends of the importance of supporting Louisiana Tech throughout its next 125 years.”

The number of donors to the campaign, including retirees, increased 14.5 percent from academic year 2017-18 to academic year 2018-19, Hull added.

“We know our faculty and staff are committed to ensuring our students have access to the resources they need to prepare for success in their careers,” said Dr. Heath Tims, one of the employee chairs for the campus campaign. “Support from colleagues for the campus campaign is one more way we can ensure our graduates are ready to make a difference.”

Contributors to the Forever Loyal campaign have the opportunity to select where their donations will be used, and faculty and staff members are uniquely equipped to know where funds will make the most difference.

“Louisiana Tech faculty and staff members are so very generous with their time and talents – as well as their financial support – of our University,” said Tech President Dr. Les Guice. “I value the chance to celebrate their generosity and to let them know their loyalty and commitment is more appreciated than ever.”
