The popular and multi-award-winning quintet was named Live Ireland’s “Traditional Group of the Year,” Chicago Irish American News’ “Group of the Year,” and won the prestigious “Freiburger International Leiter 2016” award in Germany.

The group’s distinctive sound lies in the quality of their own compositions interspersed with traditional tunes from the countryside of Ireland and abroad. The rhythm section sets a powerful drive for the music, and the sweet, charismatic voice of Áine McGeeney draws audiences into a song the way few performers can. Goitse makes what Irish Music Magazine calls “Music that’s brimming with energy and creative zeal.”

Goitse maintains a year-round touring schedule in Ireland, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and the United States. The group has five albums, each illustrating the energetic personality of the quintet.

The show is sponsored by the Louisiana Tech Concert Association; for more information on LTCA, visit louisianatechtheatre.com, like Facebook.com/TechLTCA, or follow on Twitter at @TechLTCA.
