Carroll to keynote Summer Commencement

India Carroll, a Louisiana native and Louisiana Tech graduate, will serve as the keynote speaker for the University’s summer commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the Thomas Assembly Center on the Tech campus.

Carroll earned her bachelor’s degree in 1981 and her MBA in Accounting in 1988.

She has spent her 33-year career in the healthcare industry. Her first role was Chief Financial Officer for North Louisiana Rehabilitation Hospital in Ruston. In 1998, she accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer at Green Clinic, a multi-specialty physician clinic also located in Ruston. She served in that position for 10 years, and in 2008 was promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Under her guidance, Green Clinic has grown to more than 60 providers in 7 locations and provides a full array of healthcare services to the residents of North Central Louisiana.

An avid supporter of Louisiana Tech, she has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Foundation Board, the Foundation Board Investment Committee, the Research Corporation Board, the Advisory Board for the School of Accountancy, and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Business. She has also been a member of the Lagniappe Ladies, the women’s philanthropic network of the Louisiana Tech Foundation.

One of her more cherished roles was as a keynote speaker for the “Inside the C-Suite” series sponsored by the College of Business. In addition, she has served in various advisory roles for Sigma Kappa Sorority.

Carroll and her husband Danny have resided in Ruston for the past 43 years and are the proud parents of two children, Jennifer and Carter. Deeply invested in the University’s mission and vision, the family has provided financial gifts to support new and innovative programming for College of Business students and has also planted seeds to support future business students with a legacy gift commitment.
