Louisiana Tech University’s English program has been recognized for excellence in online master’s degree programs by OnlineMastersDegrees.org, a site that ranks graduate degree options throughout the United States for distance learners.

The program earned the No. 11 spot on the “Best Online Master’s Degree Programs in English” list for enrollment numbers as well as financial aid offered to students. It is the only program in Louisiana to rank on the list.

The program provides students with innovative learning opportunities and access to courses led by professors from Louisiana Tech, as well as materials presented through Tech’s learning management system, Moodle.

Students in the English program gain advanced knowledge in British literature, American literature, or technical writing, and those who complete a program have the skills to teach, work in publishing, journalism, and technical writing; and continue to doctoral English programs or law school. All students enrolled in the program learn to write well-developed research using thoroughly developed bibliographies.

For the rankings, Online Master’s Degrees analyzed data for nearly 8,000 schools within the U.S. that have active regional accreditation and offer students academic counseling and career placement services.
