Tech earns 2023 U.S News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings
Louisiana Tech University has once again been recognized as a leader in graduate education according to the U.S. News & World Report 2023 Best Graduate Schools rankings released today.
The College of Business, College of Education, and College of Engineering and Science each placed on the Best Graduate Schools list.
- College of Business – No. 98, Best Business Graduate Schools
- College of Education – No. 168, Best Education Graduate Schools
- College of Engineering – Top 200, Best Engineering Graduate Schools
“As our College continues to climb in the rankings each year, I am immensely proud of the work of our faculty and students who contribute daily to this success,” said Dr. Chris Martin, Dean of the College of Business. “This past year, 100 percent of our MBA and Master of Accountancy graduates placed in a successful career, further indication that our market-responsive curriculum is preparing innovative and ethical leaders for success in today’s rapidly changing business environment.”
Methodology for these rankings varied across disciplines. For the six graduate program areas with the largest enrollments (business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing), U.S. News used a combination of expert opinion about program excellence and statistical indicators that measured the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students.
“We are pleased to achieve these rankings for our graduate education and psychology programs,” said Dr. Don Schillinger, Dean of the College of Education. “They are a testament to our excellent faculty and students. We are continually striving to enhance recognition across the state and nation.”
“We are excited to have several of our graduate programs recognized by USNWR,” said Dr. Hisham Hegab, Dean of the College of Engineering and Science. “Our faculty and facilities provide opportunities for students to work on innovative, cutting-edge research in these fields.”
The following specialty programs were also included in the latest rankings:
- Biomedical Engineering – No. 118, Best Engineering Specialties Programs
- Mathematics – No. 179, Best Science Doctoral Programs
- Computer Science – No. 179, Best Science Doctoral Programs
- Psychology – No. 202, Best Social Sciences and Humanities Doctoral Programs
“I am excited that after a lot of hard work by the faculty, computer science and mathematics are now in the top 200 of specialty programs,” said Dr. Collin Wick, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies in the College of Engineering and Science. “They truly have made a positive impact for the University and region.”
This year, data for the rankings in all six disciplines came from statistical surveys of more than 2,150 programs and from reputation surveys sent to more than 23,200 academics and professionals in Fall 2021 and early 2022.
