Dr. Donald Kaczvinsky, the George E. Pankey Eminent Scholar in English and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, delivered a paper at the 28th James Joyce Symposium that took place June 12-18.

The Symposium celebrated the 100th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses, referred to as one of the most important works in modernist literature, and was held in the novel’s city setting of Dublin, Ireland at Trinity College and University College.

Kaczvinsky’s presentation, entitled “One Hundred Years of Servitude: Joyce’s Portrait and Swift’s Mothering Sunday,” was part of a panel entitled “Rewriting Joyce Today.”
