Louisiana Tech’s top percussionists present free concert Feb. 13

Louisiana Tech University’s top percussionists will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Monday in Howard Auditorium on the University’s campus.

Members of the ensemble include Music majors from the College of Liberal Arts and Engineering and Computer Science majors from the College of Engineering and Science.

Works to be performed include a marimba quartet by Joseph Slater titled Suite for Keyboard Percussion, a quintet for concert toms by Susan Powell titled Re: Disaster, an early work from the percussion ensemble repertoire titled Pulse by Henry Cowell, and a prog-rock inspired octet by Lane Harder titled Carey, which features Music Education major and Denham Springs native Dayne Armstrong on drums.
