Prescott Memorial Library celebrates Open Education Week

Mar 4, 2024 | General News

Prescott Memorial Library will join hundreds of higher education institutions and associated organizations around the world in celebrating Open Education Week March 4-8.

“Open Education Week is an annual global event to raise awareness, showcase initiatives, and celebrate the impact of Open Educational Resources (OERs),” says Angela Dunnington, executive director of library services.

Started in 2012 by the Open Education Global as a collaborative, community-built-in forum, Open Education Week provides faculty and students an understanding of open educational practices and resources.

Each day this week, the library will feature a resource (such as DOAJ, LOUIS OER Commons, CloudSource OA and much more) to raise awareness with the campus community. The institutional repository for Louisiana Tech University is now under Prescott Memorial Library, so the library aims to promote our Digital Commons platform during this campaign.

Louisiana Tech University students and faculty can stop by the OER table at Prescott Memorial Library to learn more about open educational resources during spring welcome week March 11-15.
