Former Louisiana Tech University student-athlete Solomon Randle has been named director of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club, the athletic fundraising arm of the Division of University Advancement. Its mission is to raise funds to support over 300 student-athletes and their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.

“It’s an honor to promote an outstanding team member like Solomon in University Advancement,” said Brooks Hull, vice president for University Advancement. “Throughout his career at Louisiana Tech, Solomon has served the campus community with pride and loyalty, and those qualities have helped our University grow. We look forward to seeing him continue positive growth in the coming years.”

As coordinator for athletic advancement, Randle was an integral member of the fundraising staff that set a new record for dollars raised towards LTAC – $1.5 million for the first time in school history – during the 2016-17 fiscal year. He also served as director of the Letterman’s Club for former student-athletes, which saw a 31 percent new member increase in the 2017-18 fiscal year.

“Solomon brings a wealth of experience to his new role as LTAC director,” said Tommy McClelland, Louisiana Tech Director of Athletics. “He knows the importance of providing support for our student-athletes in the classroom and on the playing field. The relationships he has established with former student-athletes, as well as business partners, will contribute to growth opportunities with LTAC.”

In the past year, Randle completed the Learfield Minority Academy and received the CASE District IV Newcomer Scholarship. He assumes LTAC leadership from Tyson Baldwin, who recently joined UA-Little Rock as Director of Athletic Development.
