An exhibition of new work by an assistant professor in Louisiana Tech’s School of Architecture will open Friday, Oct. 10, in the university’s Enterprise Center.

Assistant professor Michael Williams will be featured in ‘Kneading Bodies,’ which opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m.

The display explores the touch-related, visceral and invisible forces that shape the body. Williams said the two- and three-dimensional digitally printed work explores themes and ideas of English painter Francis Bacon and Bulgarian-French philosopher, literary critic and psychoanalyst Julia Kristeva.

Williams has taught at Tech since 2004 in the areas of foundation studio, craft studio and third-year. He previously taught at the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University. Williams received his bachelor of architecture at Ball State University and his master of architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Both the reception and the show are open to the public. Gallery hours after the opening are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. For further information, contact Dorene Kordal at 257-3890 or dorene@latech.edu.

The Enterprise Center is located in the former Lincoln Parish Library, 509 W. Alabama Ave.
