Tech faculty to partner with other institutions on diversity in STEM
Quality Education for Minorities Network in partnership with researchers from Louisiana Tech University, Vanderbilt University, North Dakota State University, Temple University, and Morgan State University has been awarded funding for a conference to engage the scientific community in discussions about improving underrepresented minorities in STEM through creating a Community of Practice.

Tech Accounting Professor to offer free fraud prevention course
Dr. John Lauck, Louisiana Tech University’s Chase Bank Endowed Associate Professor of Accountancy, will offer a free fraud prevention class to area businesses and non-profits from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. The course will take place in Room 126 in the College of Business.
McFadden presents ‘Trauma Informed Care’ at annual conference
Dr. Patti McFadden, a graduate of Louisiana Tech’s Division of Nursing in 1995, says she’s actually been a nurse since kindergarten but has “only been licensed for 27 years.” McFadden, who is an RN and Associate Professor of Nursing at Tech, comes by the passion for her profession honestly.

TTC students, faculty earn international awards
Louisiana Tech University’s Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) faculty and students won multiple awards for their 2022 research from the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT). The ISTT honored a faculty research team and a doctoral student for academic and student research at the 38th International No-Dig Conference in Helsinki, Finland, in early October.

Recently, a publication written by Dr. Julie Rutledge, Professor of Human Development and Family Science and Director of the ENRICH Center, was featured in the September issue of Implementation in Action, the Center for Implementation’s monthly bulletin.

COES establishes SUCCESS Scholars Program
The Louisiana Tech University College of Engineering and Science (COES) has established the SUCCESS Scholars Program to provide scholarships and co-curricular activities for outstanding engineering students beginning in the upcoming academic year.
