Nine Louisiana Tech nursing graduates were honored during the fall pinning ceremony in November.
The award for academic excellence went to Lori Middlebrooks, of West Monroe. Gina Goodgion Owen, of Ruston, received the Edith Bice award and the Ruth Maydell Harms award. Samantha Maddry, of Bossier, received a TOPS scholarship.

Cathy Maddry, health occupations department chair at Northwest Louisiana Technical College Minden Campus, was speaker for the event. She is a 1981 graduate of Tech’s nursing program. Maddry earned her BSN in nursing from Northwestern Louisiana University in 2002 and her M.A. in counseling and guidance from Tech in 2007. She is currently pursuing her MSN at Grambling State University.
