Louisiana Tech College of Business to co-host Business Outlook Summit
The 7th Annual Business Outlook Summit, sponsored by Community Trust Bank and co-hosted by Louisiana Tech’s College of Business, will be held on Friday, April 8, at the CenturyLink Headquarters in Monroe. The event will feature a number of distinguished speakers who will deliver economic forecasts for the region, state, and nation.
Delivering the economic outlook for the nation is keynote speaker Dr. James Glassman, managing director and senior economist with J. P. Morgan Chase & Company. Speakers providing regional economic outlooks include Dr. John Francis, assistant professor of economics at Louisiana Tech University, and Dr. Robert Eisenstadt, associate professor of economics at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
Glassman publishes independent research on the principal forces shaping the economy and financial markets, and his views are widely cited in the financial media, where he is a frequent commentator on economic policy issues. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and was awarded a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University.
From 1979 to 1988, Glassman served in a number of areas in the Research and Statistics and Monetary Affairs Divisions at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C. He joined Morgan Guaranty in 1988 and Chemical Bank in 1993, which, through mergers with Chase Manhattan, JPMorgan, and most recently Bank One, is called JPMorgan Chase & Co.
The Business Outlook Summit is hosted by Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business, the University of Louisiana-Monroe’s College of Business Administration, the Department of Economic Development-Northeast Louisiana Region, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the Ruston/Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, and the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.
