Louisiana Tech meets Forever Loyal campaign goal

Louisiana Tech University has reached its Forever Loyal campaign goal, raising more than $125 million to support University initiatives. The campaign will continue through the year of celebrations for the University’s 125th anniversary.

More than 20,000 donors made 68,531 individual gifts to mark Louisiana Tech’s anniversary year. These investments – a grand total of $125,652,852 thus far – are focused on scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships for students; recruitment of faculty; research and teaching grants; and building the next phase of campus improvements.

And because of them, our state will have a brighter future as well.”

The public phase of the Tech’s most ambitious campaign to date was launched Nov. 10, 2018. Among the highlights has been the University’s inaugural Giving Day, held in the week following the April 25 tornado that hit Ruston and destroyed much of Tech’s athletics complex.

“Our inaugural Giving Day truly showed the loyalty and commitment that’s ever-present in the Tech Family,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement. “Alumni and friends invested $1.28 million in Louisiana Tech’s plans for continued excellence on that day alone. I couldn’t be prouder of the achievements we’ve made throughout the campaign.”

The Forever Loyal campaign was designed to help Louisiana Tech face challenges and discover potential. The innovative and collaborative culture integrated throughout the University will help create economic prosperity and educational attainment and improve the quality of life for the people of Louisiana.

“So much about our unique culture of caring and commitment has been reinforced through the campaign,” Guice said. “Our Tech Family is dedicated to providing an unparalleled educational experience for students, and that includes having a campus setting designed to provide living and learning spaces for all members of our community as well as significant research opportunities for students and faculty alike.”

Throughout the campaign, donors will continue to see the concrete impacts of their gifts. The Noble Trees project was fully funded, restoring and replacing the campus’ historic trees. After the tornado, recovery funds were quickly distributed to students, faculty, and staff in need of immediate assistance. Construction projects such as the Integrated Engineering and Science Building are near completion, and research projects focused on finding solutions to Grand Challenges in health and wellness, cyber, and energy were launched with funding assistance.

“Today, private funding assistance has become even more important to public universities,” Hull said. “We will continue to show that investment in Louisiana Tech yields a solid return and positive impact on our state, region, and nation. I encourage our alumni and friends – individuals and companies alike – to expect the best from Louisiana Tech, and then to stand by us as we deliver.”
