Louisiana Tech University, recently announced the recipients of the Education during COVID-19 Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year. The Education during COVID-19 Scholarship was designed to give any first-time undergraduate student interested in Louisiana Tech the opportunity to detail their experience with learning during the pandemic.

Students could submit an entry in any form of art. The scholarship remained open for six weeks and received over 130 submissions. Winners are:

• Adeline Moss, of Lake Charles, Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, winning submission with an essay
• Kathryn Anderson, of Shreveport, Caddo Parish Magnet High School, submission of a painting
• Alana Lovette, of Boyce, Pineville High School, submission of a painting
• Abigail Clark, of West Monroe, Claiborne Christian School, submission of a poem

“We are so grateful for the number of students willing to share their stories with us,” Tree George, Director of Admissions, said. “We had strong contenders from all over the states of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and beyond. Every story was as unique as the person telling it, and we are honored to listen. We are thankful to our senior leadership and campus partners who made this opportunity such a success.”

Awarded to first-year undergraduates entering for the Class of 2025, the scholarship provides between $250 and $2,500 to a recipient’s first year at Louisiana Tech. This amount is in addition to any other awards a student may receive.
