New Frontiers to focus on health disparities in Feb. 1 lecture
At 3:30 p.m. CST Feb. 1, The New Frontiers in Biomedical Research Seminar series will return for the second of two lectures focused on patient care. This lecture will focus on COVID-19, health care disparities, vaccine education, and what individuals can do to aid in community response and recovery.

Student research published in Journal of Neurotoxicology
Students from the School of Biological Sciences and the Molecular Sciences and Nanotechnology (MSNT) program recently published their findings on the impact of photon and proton radiation on neurological DNA repair and mitochondrial activity in the Journal of Neurotoxicology.

The virtual forum includes five sessions featuring an array of speakers who are diversity, equity, and inclusion thought-leaders from top global corporations. Biology grad student earns Sigma Xi grant
Caroline Rinderle, a student in the Master of Science in Biology program, was named a recipient of Sigma Xi’s 2020 Grants in Aid of Research (GIAR). She was one of only 101 grant recipients and the only student from the State of Louisiana to receive this highly competitive award.
