Tech Theatre’s free showcase begins Tuesday on Twitch
The Louisiana Tech School of Theatre’s Theatre Showcase, an eccentric blend of original and developing works, all written and produced by students in Tech’s playwriting and beginning and advanced acting classes, runs Tuesday through Friday (Oct. 27-30) at 7:30 p.m. online.

St.Amant unanimous selection for Distinguished Service Award
Louisiana Tech Eunice C. Williamson Endowed Chair of Technical Communication Dr. Kirk St.Amant has been selected to receive the 2020 Distinguished Service Award from the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC), the leading professional organization dedicated to the development of academic programs in technical communication at all higher education levels.

AEP teacher selected as Teacher Leader Adviser by state DoE
A.E. Phillips Laboratory School teachers are known for their dedication, and one in particular has received notice from even the Louisiana Department of Education. The DoE recently selected DeEtte Wick as a Teacher Leader Adviser.

Students were given one minute to present their ideas and were able to receive feedback from a panel of judges to see if they have the discipline and determination to make their ideas work.

Louisiana Tech junior Madison Brown of Lacombe was awarded the General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) Intern Leadership award after completing a 10-week internship with General Dynamics this summer.

ECEC grant helps add layer of safety
Louisiana Tech’s Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) has received a two iPads and two laptops through a Technology Grant Award from the Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana. The new equipment will be a valuable aid in helping ECEC maintain state-required safety adjustments.

Kevin McKee, mechanical engineering senior at Louisiana Tech University, designed and built a prototype facility protection tool for the Air Force Global Strike Command at a Design Sprint aimed at solving a recurring problem that the command encounters.
COE researcher looks to help police officers’ health
Dr. Todd Castleberry, an assistant professor in the department of kinesiology in Louisiana Tech’s College of Education, is working with Tech’s nursing department, Tech Police and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department to compare blood pressure changes in officers while they wear a duty belt versus a load bearing vest.
