About Applied and Natural Sciences

Fueling Curiosity. Transforming the Future

The College of Applied and Natural Sciences (ANS) at Louisiana Tech University is a dynamic academic and research community where innovation meets impact. With over 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students, ANS equips future leaders with the critical thinking, analytical reasoning, research, and communication skills needed to thrive in today’s complex world—both in the workplace and beyond.

Here, students gain more than knowledge—they gain hands-on experience. Whether deciphering molecular structures in Biological Sciences, managing health data in Health Informatics and Information Management, pioneering sustainable practices in Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, turning communication challenges into breakthroughs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or promoting health and wellness through Nursing, our programs prepare students to lead with purpose and expertise.

Service is at the heart of our mission. ANS students, faculty, and staff work together to create meaningful change through research, outreach, and community engagement—locally, nationally, and globally.

Established in 1996 through the merger of the College of Life Sciences and the College of Human Ecology, ANS celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016 and continues to build on its legacy of academic excellence and public impact.
