Biology students publish research from LUMCON project
Two summers ago, two Louisiana Tech University students were given the opportunity to travel to the marshes of south Louisiana to research the impact of water hyacinth on estuarine species communities through the Louisiana Tech University and LUMCON Coastal Undergraduate Internship program.

Biology student helps find research modifications to deal with pandemic restrictions
Throughout her four years at Louisiana Tech, Biology senior Megan Gremillion has worked on several different research projects. Her most recent achievement was helping associate professor Dr. Julie Rutledge in the School of Human Ecology to find modifications for in-person intervention programs to an online platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Innovation Enterprise receives $1.5 million EDA award
The Innovation Enterprise at Louisiana Tech University has been selected for a $1.5 million award through the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Build to Scale Venture Challenge competition.

Dr. Mark Murphey to receive FFA’s highest honor
Louisiana Tech’s Dr. Mark Murphey, Academic Program Chair in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor of Animal Science and Holder of the Agricultural Sciences Endowed Professorship in Tech’s Department of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, has been selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree, the highest degree bestowed upon an individual by the National FFA Organization.

Double major Austin O’Neal earns MOTAG South scholarship
Louisiana Tech senior Austin O’Neal, a Geographic Information System (GIS) and Forestry double major, has earned the Millyard Operating Technical Advancement Group (MOTAG) South scholarship of $3,000 for the 2021-22 academic year.

COES receives more than $250,000 gift from Louisiana Contractor’s Licensing Board
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors has donated more than $250,000 to Louisiana Tech University’s Construction Engineering Technology program as part of its ongoing effort to increase the training opportunities for the next generation of leaders in construction management.
