FACULTY & STAFF

Campus communication 2 – Jan. 9, 2019

Campus Community,

As stated in President Guice’s email this morning, the go-live date for the Workday project has been extended to July 2020. As a result of the revised go-live date, Louisiana Tech is postponing the change to the biweekly payroll cycle for our non-classified employees (excluding faculty and adjuncts) and our graduate and undergraduate student employees.

The new biweekly payroll schedule will now be implemented in January 2020. The revised date will give employees additional time to plan for the new payroll frequency and help minimize the administrative burden of processing paper time and attendance/timesheet forms on our employees during the next 18 months.

The non-classified employees, graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and research assistants will continue to be paid on the current monthly cycle until January 2020. Other student employees (regular student labor funds and Federal College Work-study funds) will be paid on Friday, Jan. 11 as scheduled.  The Office of Financial Aid will distribute the revised student payroll schedule within the next few days.

You may have recently completed new authorization forms for certain withholdings and deductions because of the anticipated payroll schedule change. The University will not utilize these new forms unless the employee authorizes us to do so in writing. Instead, we will continue to use the authorizations in place prior to the completion of the new forms. If you need to update your W-4 or L-4 tax form or the authorization for your credit union deduction, 403B plan, or deferred compensation plan, please contact Dow Eldridge at eldridge@latech.edu or 318.257.4325, or Jennifer Sneed at jsneed@latech.edu or 318.257.2235 for assistance.

If you have any other questions regarding the Workday project, please email workday@latech.edu.

Thank you for your patience as we continue this important implementation and associated changes to existing business processes.
