National Park Service, Library of Congress honor Carwile
The Library of Congress and the National Park Service recognized Professor Guy W. Carwile, Ken Hollis College of Liberal Arts Endowed Professor, with the 2020 Leicester B. Holland Prize for his drawing of the first permanent bus stop shelter built on the current home of the LSU campus.

The school year looks markedly different this time around for Louisiana Tech University, but campus leaders are confident they have the perfect mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning tools to provide the same quality education their students expect. Instructors are using Mediasite lecture videos and real-time Zoom calls to continue teaching and learning and improve student outcomes.

Bradford-Robinson reminds graduates of the importance of unity
In her address to Louisiana Tech University’s Fall 2020 graduates, Bertha Bradford-Robinson advocated for unity despite the differences between people. The commencement speaker addressed graduates in the colleges of Business and Engineering and Science Friday night and in the colleges of Applied and Natural Sciences, Education, and Liberal Arts this morning.

Louisiana Tech partners with Discovery Education to launch online graduate courses to support Louisiana educators
Louisiana Tech University today announced the launch of four new online graduate courses designed to support current educators teaching in the online learning environment across the state of Louisiana. Created in partnership with Discovery Education, the global leader in standards-aligned digital curriculum resources, engaging content, and professional learning for K-12 classrooms, the four courses will lead to a graduate certificate in online teaching and learning and also apply toward a master’s degree.

Times Higher Education honors Louisiana Tech Engineering programs
Louisiana Tech University was ranked one of the best places in the world to study engineering in the recent Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2021.

Bertha Bradford-Robinson, ’76, to give Fall Commencement Address
In order to maintain appropriate physical distancing within the Thomas Assembly Center, graduates will be divided into two groups by colleges – Friday, Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m.: College of Business and College of Engineering and Science; and Saturday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m.: College of Applied and Natural Sciences, College of Education, and College of Liberal Arts. Tickets will be required to attend any of the weekend’s ceremonies.
