Louisiana Tech hosts LSTA and LATM conference for STEM teachers

Jeffus named Truman Scholarship finalist
Louisiana Tech University junior Ethan Jeffus has been named a Truman Finalist; he will travel to Texas for the final interview process in March. Jeffus is a Political Science major and student in the Honors Program at Louisiana Tech.

Tower Medallion recipients: Becky and Lue Napper
Becky and Lue Napper found each other while students on a Louisiana Tech Rome trip, were engaged in 1969, graduated from Tech together in 1970, and were married in January 1971.

Trawick to keynote Winter Commencement
Dr. T. Steen Trawick Jr., CEO of CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System since 2019 and a 1991 Biological Sciences graduate of Louisiana Tech, will serve as the keynote speaker for the University’s winter commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4 in the Thomas Assembly Center on the Tech campus.

Southern Plains Transportation Center receives $3 million in funding
The United States Department of Transportation has provided $3 million in funding for the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC), a regional university transportation center in which Louisiana Tech is a member of, made possible by the efforts of College of Engineering and Science faculty member, Dr. Nazimuddin Wasiuddin, and his contributions to the writing of the proposal.
